Raymond Robert Myers Jr., 52, of Belton, passed away on October 14, 2022. Raymond Robert, also known as Rob, Robby, Dad, Uncle Rob and Papa Rob, was born in Kansas City to Raymond, Sr. and Patricia Myers on November 30, 1969.
He grew up in Belton and continued to raise his family in Belton after he married his wife, Karen Myers, on October 16, 1993. He was a successful business co-owner/operator of Myers Furnace Company in Belton where he worked for over 30 years.
He loved the outdoors and traveled to many states, countries, national parks and completed several hikes on the Katy Trail. He was a runner and completed numerous marathons. He was a writer, and a lover of poetry and music.
Rob is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Robert Myers, Sr.
Rob is survived by Karen, wife of 29 years; children Elaine and Raymond III; four sisters Shelly Myers, Denise (Ken) Wittkopp, Cindy Myers and Julie (Robert) Correales; brother Art (Bridget) Myers, mother Patricia Myers; grandson Theo Woods; brother-in-law David (Robin) Hughes; many nieces and nephews; many close friends and his dog Hermann.
A Celebration of Life gathering to honor Rob will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 5 to 7:30 pm at McGilley & George Funeral Home in Grandview. At 6:30, we will open the microphone for family and friends to share their love, stories and fond memories of Rob.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Rob’s honor be made to Midwest Transplant Network.
