Before coming to Belton, Allen served in the Kansas City, Kan., Public Schools for 19 years as a substitute teacher, coach, parent involvement coordinator and classroom teacher and has spent the past six years as principal of Ruskin High School.

“I am excited about the work the district is doing with the Academies of Belton and Real World Learning with the Kauffman Foundation, the community’s commitment to education, and the opportunity to join the Pirate family.”

His educational journey from substitute teacher to high school principal gives him a unique perspective that will serve staff and students well.

Allen said he looks forward to building on the successful foundation that has been established at Belton High School and plans to partner with the community to ensure everyone can feel connected as Pirates.
