RAYMORE – Community Bank of Raymore will be hosting its 12th Annual “Stuff the Bus” School Supply Drive to collect school supplies for children in the community. The event will begin on July 27 and will conclude on Aug 14.
The main objective of “Stuff the Bus” is to fill a need in our community by providing children the essential tools they need to have a bright, worry free start to the new school year.
This year we anticipate filling over 300 backpacks with new school supplies and are calling upon the community to aid in this effort, especially in these troubling times.
Donations will be accepted at Community Bank branches between the lobby hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Donations can be brought in, dropped off, or ordered online off our Amazon wishlist.
Monetary donations are welcomed as well and can be collected at either of our branches: Community Bank of Raymore, 801 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore; and Community Bank of Peculiar, 300 C. Highway, Peculiar.
The supplies collected will be distributed to local families in the Raymore-Peculiar and Cass Midway School Districts. School supply lists can be found at local merchants or on each respective school’s website.
The most needed item are backpacks for all ages, in addition to other items that tend to run low include: hardcover 3-ring binders, Sharpies, dry erase markers, zippered binders, and folders (variety in color, with and without brads).
“We are so fortunate to work with Community Bank on the Stuff the Bus project now in conjunction with the Ray-Pec Cares Back to School Fair. It is so awesome to see the kids get the supplies and resources they need to start the school year off right! Taking care of these more basic needs does wonders for their ability to attend and learn at school,” said Allison Scott, Ray-Pec School District behavior interventionist.
Community Bank of Raymore is honored to be a part of this event, in which a community comes together to make a difference in a child’s life.
