Cheryl (Cheri) Scarborough

Cheri Scarborough, 74, of Belton, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Belton Research Medical Center, Belton. Cheri was born on November 02, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo., to the late Robert R Killion and Alice Jane Killion. She was a member of South Haven Baptist Church in Belton. Cheri loved her family and church.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis E. Scarborough; two sons, Cory Scarborough and Brandon Scarborough; two stepdaughters, Cathy Scarborough and Casey Scarborough; four grandsons, Matthew, McLain, Trent and Maxtin. There is one sister, Sandy Duffelmeyer and a brother Ray Killion.


No formal funeral services are planned. A visitation and mingle memorial will be held on July 20, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Carnegie Village Independent Living Facility, 107 Bernard Drive, Belton.


Cheri’s passion and desire was to be an elementary teacher. She fulfilled that with a career in teaching that spanned almost 26 years. She retired in 1997. After staying home for two years, she returned to the work force as a receptionist for The Fellowship of Christian Athletes for 10 years.
